Why prices vary
A few light bags take less vehicle space and loading time than a garage full of mixed items. Heavy waste such as soil, rubble and tiles can reach vehicle weight limits quickly, so it is normally priced separately.
Photos make quotes clearer
Take one wide photo of the whole pile, then close-ups of appliances, rubble or other heavy items. Include stairs, narrow hallways and parking restrictions. This helps the team plan the job and give a fairer price.
What a good quote should cover
Check that lifting, loading, transport and disposal are included. The collector should explain any items that need a separate charge before work starts.
